On Fusion Operations it's possible to purchase a product in a specific UoM and convert it to a different one to be consumed.

If this is your case, check the example below.

Example:

Let's assume you purchase a specific product with a UoM "Cases" but you would like to consume it in "Can" during production.

Set Up

1. Define the main UoM as "Can" and purchase Order UoM as "Case" with the respective conversion group. If you need help on how to create a conversion group please check this article.

2. Create an operation called, for example, "Conversion" with the configurations below:

  • NO. of times per product: Corresponds to the number of times an operation has to be performed to produce one unit of product. In this case, since 1 Case corresponds to 24 cans, the number of times per product will be 1/24 = 0,041667 cases.

  • Unit of Measurement: UoM we'll be converting into the standard one. Fusion Operations will ask you how many units of Cases you want to convert into Can. The inventory movement from production will be in Can.

Conversion:

1. Create a Production Order for the product you would like to convert

On the Production Order, you'll be identifying how many Cans (standard UoM) you'll have after production.

2. Add production with the quantities you'll be converting:

In the example below, we'll be converting 1 case of product 1 (1) into 24 Can (2).

3. Check inventory movements and inventory levels

When we check both inventory movements and inventory levels we can see 1 Case was converted into 24 Cans.
