In Autodesk Fusion Operations you can create production orders manually, via import (configurable or not) and finally from a Sales order which we will explore in this article.
A production order/job is an order to produce a certain quantity of a given product, fulfilling a sales order or replenishing your inventory levels.
After creating your sales order, you can see how to do it in this article, Autodesk Fusion Operations will help you to create the Production Orders/Jobs necessary to produce the quantities ordered by your client.
To do this you have 2 options:
Option 1
By clicking 'Save and Create Production Orders/Jobs' button in the bottom of the screen. Note that if the sales order already has production orders assign to it, the button 'View Production orders' will also be presented in the end of the page.
Option 2
Using the bulk edit and selecting the option create Production orders/Jobs.
In both options the Pop-up below will be presented:
Here you have 'Create one production order/job per:' and 4 options:
One production order/job per shipping
This means that the shipping will be used to group the production orders. In other words, if your sales order has one or several shippings, and if those shippings have one or several products, one production order will be created individually for each of the shippings (containing all the products in that shipping).
Note that in this case the shipping codes will be assigned to the corresponding production order, which allow you to track the status of production for that specific sales order.
One production order/job per product per shipping
This means that the shipping and product will be used to group the production orders. In other words, if your sales order has one or several shippings, and if those shippings have one or several products, one production order will be created individually for each product on each shipping.
Note that in this case the shipping codes will also be assigned to the respective production order, which allow you to track the status of production for that specific sales order.
One production order/job per product
This means that the product will be used to group the production orders. In other words, one production order will be created for each product: if a product exists in 2 or more shippings, the quantity will be summed and one production order will be created for each product.
Note that in this case the shipping number will not be in the production order, since the products can be from several shippings and per production order only one shipping can be added.
One production order/job for all products
This means that one production order will be created for all products that exist in the sales order, independently of the number of shippings. If a product exists in 2 or more shippings, the quantity will be summed and added to a single production order.
Note that also in this case the shipping number will not be in the production order, since the products can be from several shippings and per production order only one shipping code can be added.
Other options:
In the same pop-up as before there are other options, as you can see in the image below, such as:
Create POs (Production orders/jobs) for subproducts: when selected, a production order will be created for the sub assemblies of the main product.
Include or not all levels from the bill of materials: only shown when the previous one is selected. In this case you can choose to either include only the first subassemblies of your main product in the POs or to include all sub assemblies levels.
Group subproducts in a single PO/job: only shown when "Create POs (Production orders) for subproducts" is selected. This option enables you to create a single PO for all the sub assemblies, instead of having them separated in several POs.
