Autodesk Fusion Operations defines a product as a series of operations through which a raw material goes.

After creating the product’s reference in the system, it is necessary to set the operations which transform the raw material into that same product and associate both the operations and the product.

Create an Operation

To do this follow the steps bellow:

1. From the Main dashboard, access the Products screen by clicking "Products" in the sidebar.

2. In Products choose the product to which you want to add a new operation, by pressing the code or the "Edit" button.

3. In the Product window, click " +Add Operation".

or

4. In the Operation form, the only mandatory field that's not automatically filled is the operation Code which is the unique operation identifier.

The other mandatory fields that are automatically filled are:

  • Task Duration: the average time that the operation usually takes to complete - in theory

  • Task Duration Customer: time that was set in the budget

  • Quantity ratio: Quantity of product produced in a specified period of time

  • Number of times per product: Execution of this operation per unit of product, i.e., the number of times an operation has to be performed to produce a unit of product.

There are other fields and options but they are not mandatory and for now you can leave them blank.

5. After completing the step from 1 to 4 remember to “Save Operation”.

Congratulations! You have created your operation and you have associated it with a product!

Disable an operation

If an operation is no longer used on the production flow, you should disable it. By doing so, this operation will become inaccessible for execution on the tablet by the workers. It will be as if the operation doesn't exist within the production flow.

To disable an operation on your account, follow the steps below:

1. From the Main panel, access the Operations panel by clicking "Operations" on the sidebar.

2. Search for the operation you're trying to disable (A). You can use the search bar and the table filters for assistance. Once located, click on the "Edit" button to access that operation's page (B).

3. On the bottom of the operation's page, select the button "Disable Operation".

Beware that if this button is not visible to you, it means you do not have the necessary permissions to execute this action. Please reach out to an admin to carry out this task.

Now that you already know how to create operations, learn how to insert a machine into the system.
