In Autodesk Fusion Operations, it's possible to assign a client product code to the different products and print the sales order either for the internal product code or for the client product code.
There are two ways to associate your Products with a Client:
Adding this connection when editing a product.
Importing this connection via Excel
Associating a specific Product with a Client
1. Go to Products (1) and open the product you want to associate with a client by clicking on the edit button (2).
2. Now go to the clients tab (1) and click "ADD CLIENT PRODUCT CODE" (2).
3. On the presented dropdown select a client (1) and enter its respective Client Product Code (2). Note that one product can be associated with multiple Clients
4. Press “Save” (3) to apply the changes.
Importing Several Product-Client associations
You can import the Product-Client association and Client Product code in bulk to multiple Products by following the steps below :
1. In the Sales Order menu (1), select the Clients panel (2). Then, click the arrow highlighted below to expand the dropdown and select 'Import Products per Client' (3).
2. Get the template you will be using to import the client-products association by clicking on the ‘Excel’ link as shown below.
3. There are 3 fields to be filled in the import template: columns A and C are mandatory and column B is optional.
Product Code (Column A): The product code in Fusion Operations.
Client Product Code (Column B ): Part number used by the Client for this product. If you leave the field blank, it means the Client Product Code will be the same as the product code.
Client Code (C): Code for the Client in Fusion Operations.
4. After filling out all the required information, save it and choose to attach or drop the file to upload and click in ‘Start to send’
5. Check for errors and press confirm.
Note: Beware that the importer supports updates, so if you introduce an existing Client Product Code, the information will be replaced.
Impact on Sales Orders
When creating a sales order, after you fill in the client information, if any of its products are selected, then its respective client product code will also be displayed.
Impact when printing Sales Orders.
On the bottom of the page, when printing the Sales Order, you now have the option to print it with the Internal Product Code or with the Client Product Code.
Print with Internal Product Codes
When the option "Print with internal product codes" is selected, the format below is printed. The products column contains the internal product code and name..
Print with Client Product Codes
When the option "Print with Client product codes" is selected, the format below is printed. The products column contains the Client product code.
Pro Tip: When associating a client with the products, there are 2 special cases.:
Leaving the Client Field Blank (1):
When a client product is defined without specifying a client, the client product code will serve as the generic client product code applicable to all clients not explicitly mentioned.
Leaving the Client Product Code Field Empty (2):
When a client is specified but the client product code is left empty, the internal product code itself will be considered the client product code.
